![]() ![]() In the past the offer was buy the current Office during the “qualifying period” and you will get a “free upgrade” to equivalent bundle of the new release of Office. In the past, when they finally got around to announcing the general availability release date they also had a “free upgrade offer” to keep money coming in during the last couple of months. Well we are there, now! The specific date is still unknown. MS has announced that 2019 will be released "some time second half this year". But for others, one-time payment licenses are still better. They made a number of changes to the license terms to make 365 a better deal for some people. MS wants us to switch to 365 away from the 1-time payment licenses. BUT, now is not the best time to buy a onetime payment license. If you can't find your key, MS will be more than happy to sell you a new one. If you are one of the few people who took advantage of it (I didn't), then should be able to find your license in the MyAccount site. ![]() Office 2013 gave you the option of "registering" your key. So invest some effort in finding the key. So if you don't have it written down somewhere you are S.O. But in 2013 MS "improved" the way it stored the product keys so that we could only extract the last 5 char of the key. In 2010 and earlier we could use a tool to "extract" the product key from the HD. You absolutely need the product key to re-install Office after uninstalling it, even for trouble shooting. ![]()
